Meet one of our charismatic hosts ‼️ Tarisiro Fundira is a spoken word artist, influencer and creative behind CreateZim, a community organisation which seeks to tackle the problem of mental health in Zimbabwe. Upon just your first encounter meeting Tarisiro, you will be left with the impression that he is someone who cannot help but see the best in people and hopes to promote and encourage others to use their gifts for the improvement and development of society.
His professional work experience has covered intersections of reciting and performing poetry at the BBC, delivering workshops on poetry, and using fundamentals of debating to teach communication and leadership skills to students in states schools.
After being appointed as the Deputy Head-Boy of St John’s College in 2016, Tarisiro did not shy away from leadership. Currently a student at the University of Manchester studying Civil Engineering, over the last two years at university he has been a student representative, ambassador and peer mentor in his course.
However, Tarisiro’s greatest accomplishment to date is born out of his initiative to tackle mental health in light of his late brother. His community organisation, CreateZim, looks to create safe spaces to support and encourage the people of Zimbabwe through the use of various workshops “Create-Inspire-Dream”.
