Meet our very first 2020 Spotlight Dr. Stee! 🥼 👩⚕️ ___________________
A medical doctor who is passionate about health communication. I got my MBChB medical graduate degree in Uganda at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, then I worked in Kenya for two years. I came back to Zimbabwe in 2013 where I worked within the government and private sector as a GP and paediatrics. I then specialized as a public health physician when I did Masters in public health at the University of Zimbabwe. I also accumulated various certificates to strengthen my medical foundation.
“From the time I was 14 I knew my path was going to be integrated. In University, although I was a medical student I was emersed in a peer project up to coordinater level which led to me producing a movie for the students, by the students. I started blogging in 2009. ItsSteeTime was a travelogue diary but it evolved to a platform for health messages”
I also wrote for UK published New African Woman, a health column in my name. Finally after experiencing a near maternal death I started my YouTube channel Its SteeTime. All about Inspiration, Health and Motivation. I have a show also coming up this month called Just Us Girls where I speak as a health expert on mental health issues which affect women.
