Going Creative, Exciting to share with our talented #IZSpotlight Johnson Mugabe who is an emerging self taught paper collage artist AKA Nosnhoj (which is his name spelt backwards)
“I was aware at quite a tender age of my ability to draw but it took me a pretty much long time (till i had reached my late twenties) to become what i would term a proper artist.
The most difficult part of my becoming a professional artist was finding my story that which i could genuinely convey with emotion and conviction to the world.I would love to believe that i found or rather my story found me during my stay in South Africa , whilst doing a research on artists and art forms i realized that i had this love for people especially kids because of their divine like nature which is a result of them not yet being corrupted by social forces , so most of my work features children for that reason.”
One of my career highlights was winning “The most Unusual work of Art” at the Zim Art Festival 2018
“To me art is like any other business out there and should be treated with the utmost respect it deserves , with hard work and persistence there are no limitations whatsoever to what can be achieved and me having representation in the U.K in just 4 years after turning professional should be proof enough”.
