He is currently studying his Diploma in Music at Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe.
“I do believe my career as a musician is only just beginning and I pray each day to go far in this industry. One of my biggest highlights was getting the chance to meet and converse with Faith Mussa (Malawi), the late Dr Oliver Mtukudzi, Amanda Black (South Africa) and Moonchild Sanelly (South Africa), which were all inspiring and surreal moments.” ________
Kudzai is a music teacher by profession, at St George’s College, where he is now in his 4th year of teaching marimbas and the djembe drum of West Africa. The students he has taught and still teach, range in age from as young as 8 years old, to students who are 18 years old, ranging from beginner, all the way to advanced level. In 2017 he was appointed to be the Director and Conductor of the Combined Schools Music Marimba ensemble, with students from more than 10 schools.
He recently began shooting short marimba covers, which are a method in which he hopes will enable him to grow his musical abilities, through exposure and playing techniques. He is a choral accompanist, percussionist and marimba player for various bands and artists, mainly Music According to Percussion (M.A.P), Chengeto Brown, Drum Cafe Zimbabwe, Zimspiration Choir, Maisha, Wedding Bells. This has enabled him to grow as a well-rounded musician, and also gain invaluable exposure.
Moreover, he has shared stages with numerous local and international artists through large festivals such as Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA), Jacaranda Music Festival and Lake of Stars Festival Malawi.
When things return to normalcy be sure to catch Kudzai every Sunday afternoon and evening with Dj MadeHerBelieve at Hometown Coffee House.
