Meet our spotlight Natalie Rutendo Nyatsanza who is a young Zimbabwean content creator.
“I’m very passionate about my YouTube channel which is slowly growing but I have been on it for a year now. My YouTube channel is BeingNatRn, which simply is a channel where I document my life experiences, with the hope to help or move someone’s life. It’s not to show perfection or portray a life I really don’t have off camera, but it shows the real experiences I have in order to also challenge people to be transparent and not impersonate the lives they really do not have on social media.
I believe we shouldn’t set a bar too low for ourselves or set targets that are too realistic, because the harder it seems, the harder & smarter you work.  Interesting how Most people, especially from Zimbabwe, wonder why I study engineering because I am a girl, and that’s one of the reasons I love the field i am in, because it’s a change. and I hope girls younger than me can learn from that.
Growing up in Zimbabwe always made me hungry for a change, I love my country, there’s no place like home, but being there for 18 years always made me want to shake away all the warmth and break myself off for a change. I have spent the last two years away from family, in a foreign country by myself, and I’m sure any other international student can agree that it’s not the easiest experience, but it is an experience much needed because it gets you prepared for the life out there. I have learnt to stay connected to my prayer life because God is the only one I could bring here, to educate myself more on things outside Zimbabwe & I have learnt so much about other cultures and how to handle different people.
My words of encouragement for especially people my age or younger is don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done. It’s not always going to be an easy road, at all. But only stop when you have accomplished everything you said you would, not when you feel overwhelmed, whilst on that, do not set goals that are too realistic for yourself. “
