This maybe be one the most misunderstood things to talk about because when you initiate the conversation of walking your road alone and going through your process people genuinely take it in the literal sense and they miss the lesson behind it… Because really it’s not about walking the journey alone it’s about taking personal inventory and being honest with yourself in saying that are the people and influences around you necessary and will they take you to the goals or to the life you wish to live and achieve.. This may offend people, but the truth is you can’t talk about success if you’re only working on your goals once every 2 weeks or once a week, you can’t talk about starting a business when you don’t work weekends, you can’t talk about financial literacy when half your source of income is dedicated to weekends, Sunday lunches and daily pampering.. The reason all this goes on is because we get comfortable, we surround ourselves with people and friends who we feel we are doing better than and as long as we’re better, we’re growing because that’s the measure we tie ourselves to that’s why people compete with each other, but that’s not the goal.. 👥Align yourself with the people who’ve achieved what you want to achieve( or who are genuinely in the process of going to that goal) because if you’re not changing your level of associations then are you really growing? Sometimes that means cutting off or limiting the time you waste on things that aren’t pushing you forward, and yes that may lead to a lonely road but the growth you want will only come when you’re honest with yourself, where you are and what it takes to get you to where you want to be .
