“I am the master of my fate”- William Ernest Henley.
_______
Meet our Spotlight Nyasha Warambwa, an 18 year old who is currently doing his A level at Gateway high school.
_______
“I’ve been drawing for most of my life, and I’ve always felt that I had a very good artistic mind not only in drawing but in other things like photo editing and fashion but my strongest point has always been drawing.
_________
The Power Of Not Giving Up ———In 2017 I started a drawing page but it did not last long because I did not have much experience in drawing and did not feel that it was worth the stress. Fast forward to beginning of may 2020, after posting about 4 drawings on my story, I decided to take my old art page which had a bout 90 followers at the time and just start posting my art again, today my page now has over 1000 followers.
________
One of My biggest drives was that digital Art in Zimbabwe was never really anything that people did with a passion or did without the intention of making money therefore the art that I had seen was always very substandard and basic, so I decided that if I was to draw again I was going to try and be one of the best and I was going to get people outside of the country to see that Zimbabwe has talent in drawing digitally just as much as other countries.
________
Then came along Chris Brown who is one of my favourite artists. I did a piece for his clothing brand black pyramid and tagged him. The picture did not do well initially and  after about the 30 minutes I was actually about to delete it….When I was just about to give up I got the shock of my life and saw that I had received a dm from Chris brown himself. (Keep Swiping for the rest of the story)
_______
Something I’ve always told myself is that I control my success in life not the country I live in or the school I go to. Like I like to say being in Zim isn’t a disadvantage , even the sky is not the limit for me. I AM THE MASTER OF MY FATE.
