Bantu​’s music and visuals reflect his multicultural background, with a collage of infectious sounds, rhythms, and stories. Bantu premiered his first track as an artist in 2016 with his single “Holiday,” an up-tempo love song that fused bright electronic club sounds with African rhythms.
In August 2017 he released his debut EP ​Africa for the Summer which was featured on several playlists including Spotify’s Hot Rhythmic, Teen Party, Daily Lift and Apple’s Breaking Pop playlists.
His most recent releases are in collaboration with Dr. Chaii, with their EP ​Coming To America Vol. 1 ​which debuted April 24th. Singles from the EP include “Summer Whine” featuring Soaky Siren, which was accompanied by a one-take dance video starring Andranita Smith-Shannon (Major Lazer, Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar) whilst “DiCaprio” featured Bipolar Sunshine and paired with a stunning visual shot in Dubai. “Gucci Cranberry” closed off the year and boasted a timeless Afrobeat sound. All three records were praised and supported by tastemakers, DJs, producers and influencers all around the globe.
His first record of 2020 is “Stretch” featuring Def Jam artist Danileigh. The trio made the cover for Amazon Music’s “Afro Vibes” and their TikTok campaign landed at over 29 million impressions, with 700+ influencer videos created.
In 2018, Bantu released four new songs including “Just a Little,” which was featured in the Netflix hit series ​On My Block,​ and on Apple’s Breaking Pop and Global Pop playlists. His second release of the year, “Jackie Chan,” featured on the new FIFA 19 ​soundtrack, ​climbed up the ​UK Viral Chart at ​#23, ​and ​#32 on ​Netherlands Viral Chart​. It has acquired ​22,500 Shazams, ​5m+ streams on Spotify, ​1.2m+ on Apple Music and ​1.7m+ views on YouTube.
The world of film and TV placements has been a strong space for Bantu, with one of his biggest accomplishments being the Grammy-nominated single “Familia” with Nicki Minaj and Anuel Aa. The track was an integral part of the recent animated film, ​Spider-Man.
