Meet our Host Guidance Gunundu. An upcoming model, actor, artist, and User experience designer who is currently based in California and will be moving to Georgia this fall. In Georgia, Guidance will be attending one of the most prestigious and world-renowned Arts Colleges which is Savannah College of Art and Design – with several academic achievement scholarship awards to his name.
As a young child, Guidance always knew his calling was to become a creative artist and started participating in drama clubs, marimba clubsand the National Institute of Allied Arts.
2017 was the year that changed Guidance’s life completely, not only was he the Public Relations Officer for the Harare Junior Council, when he became the Deputy Head Boy of St John’s Emerald hill, but he also received a full-tuition scholarship to attend Cañada College which is part of the San Mateo Colleges of the Silicon Valley.
At his time at Cañada College, Guidance has held various executive leadership positions including Commissioner of Marketing and Design, the Vice president of Service in the Phi Theta Kappa Honors society, Junior Graphic Designer in the Marketing Department, Campus Ambassador, and Peer Mentor. All these positions led to Guidance attending several conferences in Washington DC, Orlando Florida, Los Angeles, San Diego to name the few. Guidance has met with Congresswomen Anna Eshoo and Congresswoman Jackie Speier. He also got the chance to sit in the Supreme Court, the Capitol, and the House of Congress in Session.
In 2018, Guidance acted in a short film entitled “Puppet Cop” for the Campus Movie Fest competition and won a jury award. The film won several awards in the National Terminus competition in Atlanta and it was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival in France. Soon after the success of the short film, Guidance was recruited into the International Ideas United Creative Network, where he has access to freelance opportunities for companies such as The Weather Channel, Starbucks, PGA, and the Smithsonian Institution.
