Meet our Host Zimbabwe’s young up and coming vibrant young leader, Muzingaye Thaka from the city of Bulawayo. He is currently 21 years old but has lived up to his name on numerous occasions making him stand out incredibly. He studies the prestigious African Leadership University in Kigali, Rwanda 🇷🇼 and is currently pursuing his 3rd year embarking a BA in Global Challenges with a mission in Governance and Wildlife Conservation.
Muzi is a jovial character who enjoys cultural diversity and is always willing to bring a smile to a lot of people’s faces both near and far. In extracurricular activities, he is a fiery dancer/choreographer, a hair influencer, motivational speaker, human rights activist and social entrepreneur. In Rwanda he holds the position of being the Vice-Secretary of the executive board under the Embassy of Zimbabwe, being the only youth in the top positions. In the near future, Muzi does wish to give back to his community in Zimbabwe to provide ethical leadership just as he has been learning all of that at the 21st century skillful University, ALU.
He wishes to merge his passion for good corporate governance with saving the environment so that Zimbabwe can stand as a country that can be reckoned with success stories.
The biggest challenge for him has probably been his recent arrest in Bulawayo. On the 30th of July Muzingaye Thaka staged a one man demonstration in the city of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, expressing his resentment of recent events involving the arrest of two journalists as well as gross human rights violations in Zimbabwe. For this harmless and well intended action, he was arrested and subsequently charged with incitement of public violence. He was released on unconditional bail pending trial on the 19th of August.
