Sugar, Spice and everything nice. Meet our spotlight Irene Matsinde, a 21 year old Chef and owner of Started baking for family and friends in 2017 and has not looked back!

“I dreamed of becoming a chef since the age of 10, and enjoyed experimenting with all the recipes I would see on food channels. Cake boss was my go to show, and as a result I fell in love with baking and pastry making. I kept on pushing that dream and with the support from family and friends, the dream became a reality. Without that kind of support I wouldn’t be where I am today. I enjoy creating trendy cakes and desserts, and bringing my creativity to life. The best part about my business is making my customers happy; it keeps me going.”

In 2018 she graduated as youngest and one of the top students in her  Culinary Arts class in Harare with an Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Cookery, Pastry, Food Hygiene and Safety. She has worked at Meikles Hotel, Bronte Garden Hotel and Rhys cake creations.
She obtained an Advanced Diploma in Professional Business Management and has recently started small scale farming.

She hopes to continue growing her businesses and inspire others to achieve their dreams.
