Meet our host Nalenhle Moyo, known as Nala, an aspiring psychotherapist whose life mission is to educate people on holistic health and ensure that each person is able to identify and take care of their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs in order to fully contribute to the betterment of society.
For most of my life, the idea of being healthy was centered on how someone looks and what they have. I started to question this when I experienced a ‘quarter life crisis’ and struggled to transition well from high school to life beyond that. I started to wonder why I was struggling because I had the physical things I needed. But after a period of reflection I came to realise that there is more to me than how I appear. My health has to be all encompassing, meaning I need to consider physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and relational health to show up as my best self. Since then, I have taken some big steps, I went bald, published a book, became intentional about my relationships, learnt about my body and recently even started a garden. I’ve dedicated time to building my self awareness and now use my platform to share my journey and hope others can see the value in taking care of themselves beyond face masks and manicures.
I am currently studying towards a BA in Broadcast Journalism and Psychology and I have a very keen interest in human sexuality which encompasses Sexual Reproductive Health Rights and relationships. I hope to one day have a clinical psychology practice that focuses on developmental psychology and family therapy.
